HOW WE DO IT - Case StudiesATB FinancialObjective:ATB Financial wanted to increase the number of loans that could be processed through further automation of their existing business loan procedure.
Solution:Quadrus and ATB Financial cooperatively developed a web-based interface that eliminated paper, reduced errors and increased productivity. ATB Financial is a leading, full-service financial institution based in Edmonton, Alberta. With assets of $17.6 billion, ATB is the largest Alberta-based financial institution, providing financial services to over 600,000 Albertans.
ATB needed a way to increase the number of business loans that could be processed in a secure, reliable and accurate way by users in various departments.
ATB engaged Quadrus to provide an easy-to-use web-based interface for customer representatives to submit, track, retrieve and print loan documents. Users receive automatic notifications when the status of a loan has changed, and can also search and sort all documents in the system. This has led to increased accuracy in loan submissions, as well as in an increase in the number of loans processed in a timely manner.
Quadrus developed an ASP.NET solution that integrated with other ATB systems using web services. In designing the solution Quadrus took a holistic approach: we were able to demonstrate and establish software development best practices that would be repeatable for future ATB software development initiatives. The team created a three-tier, four-layer architecture to minimize the impact of requirement changes and to maximize the reuse of application components.
The result is an easy to use application that has streamlined an otherwise laborious and error-prone process. This improvement in accuracy of loan submissions has resulted in an increase in the number of loans processed in a timely manner which in turn, has enabled ATB to better serve their valued customers.
Also worth noting: This was the first agile project for ATB and Quadrus helped establish best practices including iterative development, build automation, continuous integration, test driven development and rapid feedback to all stakeholders.
