Solution:

Quadrus worked side-by-side with EnCana (previously PanCanadian Energy) to design, develop and deploy a new Business Intelligence tool suite

EnCana is one of the world's largest independent (exploration and production) oil and gas companies with an enterprise value of $30 billion, and is one of the top three largest publicly-traded Canadian-based industrial firms.

Quadrus was hired to work with EnCana in the design, development, and deployment of a new line of Business Intelligence (BI) software products by Business Objects. Quadrus initially developed a model application to demonstrate how the tools' features and functionality could work to EnCana's best advantage. Throughout design and development Quadrus and EnCana worked together to implement, customize, and further develop these new tools for maximum advantage.

This project's ultimate goal was to allow end-users to retrieve and analyze data without needing to use Information Services resources to create each new query and resultant reports. With Business Objects' products, any user would be able to perform data retrieval and analysis from their desktops using drag-and-drop sorting and grouping.

Business Objects' software can be a catalyst for ultra-nimble and more informed decision-making. There is no doubt that the business analytics capabilities offered by Business Objects will position EnCana to achieve strategic advantage in today's ever-changing, competitive global energy market.
