WHAT WE DO - Training & Mentoring
Applying OOA&D to .NET Development

Learning Objectives & Approach:
In this five-day course, students will walk through the Object-Oriented Analysis & Design process and then apply these concepts to development using the Microsoft .NET Framework. OOA&D concepts are fundamental to the .NET development approach. Therefore, a keen understanding and application of OOA&D is essential in order to effectively utilize the many rich features of the .NET Framework. This course brings together both of these dimensions in a practical manner—and allows for fast-tracked productivity in .NET development through a hands-on learning experience. This course is unique in that it teaches students how to practically apply OOA&D when developing in .NET, rather than concentrating solely on concepts or syntax. Students will learn to design and implement an Object-Oriented solution from one major flow Use Case.
The format of this course is:
- Days 1 - 3: Object-Oriented Analysis & Design
- Days 4 - 5: Implementation using the Microsoft .NET Framework
Key Topics:
Through lectures, group projects and hands-on labs, you will:
- Learn and apply the fundamental principles, practices and notation for creating use cases and UML artifacts
- Gain a working knowledge of OOA&D methodology
- Effectively assign responsibility to objects during system behavioral design
- Experience an iteration of the full software development lifecycle by following the complete path of one major flow use case, including end-to-end implementation in C# .NET
- Gain skills and learn best practices that will be transferable to future application development projects
Targeted Participants:
Software Professionals requiring skills in Object-Oriented Analysis & Design as well as a need to leverage the tools of the Microsoft .NET Framework. Also, this course can be of benefit in establishing common development practices within a development team. This course is targeted to Systems Analysts, Software Developers and System Architects.
Prerequisites:
Participants must have taken Quadrus' Object-Oriented Technology Fundamentals course or have obtained equivalent knowledge.
Participants should also be familiar with the Microsoft .NET approach and paradigms as described on the Microsoft .NET website as well as the .NET programming language selected for use during this course.
