WHO WE ARE - Leadership
Brian van der Voort (“Van”) is a Senior Technical Director at Quadrus Development Inc., with particular leadership responsibilities in the areas of Technology Planning, Development and Delivery. Van has been a key member of the Quadrus leadership team since 1996.  

Van has 20 years of experience as a recognized expert in best practices for the end-to-end technology development & delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis and project planning through to design, development, testing, deployment and integration. He has extensive experience and expertise in the adoption of new process and technologies, and in the management of mission-critical IT initiatives.  Van has earned a reputation for leading a long string of highly successful projects, and for working with clients to craft and implement strategies for successfully implementing and transitioning to new technologies and management processes.

Over the span of his 20-year career, Van has been a strategic advisor, senior project manager, lead analyst and/or chief architect on dozens of large-scale mission-critical projects in a variety of areas including Application Development, Business Intelligence, Systems Integration and IT Assessment & Planning. He has worked with companies of all types and sizes, from large corporate enterprises to growing startups, in a variety of business domains including oil & gas, power, communications, transportation, government and emerging technology. Van’s stellar track record, broad expertise and experience, and cooperative easy-to-work-with style has made him highly sought-after by clients and Quadrus members as a model IT professional, mentor and leader.  

Van holds a B.Sc. degree in engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). He is co-leader of the Alberta .NET Users Group and is an expert in .NET and other Microsoft technologies. Van also has advanced training and hands-on expertise in Agile methods, Java, J2EE, Oracle, various BI technologies, and many other technologies, tools and processes. In his spare time Van is an avid skier and camper.
