Quadrus Member Grant Albrecht Accepts Microsoft Developer Network Regional Director Position
CALGARY, Alta., October 31, 2002 – Grant Albrecht, Technical Director for Calgary-based IT services and solutions provider Quadrus Development Inc., officially accepted the position of Microsoft Developer Network Regional Director for Alberta today. In doing so, Grant will act as a liaison between Microsoft and the local development community. This is a highly regarded appointment with approximately 160 Directors worldwide.
"Microsoft believes that the development community is the catalyst for our new technologies; its participation is essential to the future of our products," said Bill Evelyn, Partner Account Manager, Microsoft Canada Co. "We're therefore extremely pleased that Grant has accepted the role as Regional Director of the Microsoft Developer Network. Microsoft is confident that both Grant's and Quadrus' experience and expertise will have an important influence on the direction of future technologies and enhance our ability to communicate with the development community."
Regional Directors are developers, trainers and consultants who serve as leaders in their community, speak at conferences, lead training sessions and author books, articles and white papers. These Directors serve on a volunteer basis, teaming up with Microsoft's Developer Division to help the company better respond to developers' needs. Industry events provide Regional Directors with another avenue to share their experience and help community developers gain greater understanding of Microsoft technologies.
"The Microsoft Developer Network Regional Director position allows Quadrus to further its commitment to the local development community," says Mr. Albrecht. "Quadrus will act as a conduit between Alberta's development community and Microsoft, using the .NET User Group as a key forum for soliciting feedback on Microsoft technologies. Quadrus is already .NET delivery-capable, but this level of involvement with Microsoft will only deepen our expertise in this area. We're excited about acting as a voice for the Alberta development community and about influencing the direction of future Microsoft technologies."
